The much-touted Xiaomi event slated for Monday, May 13 in China will now be awaited for one more device, a Redmi laptop. The speculation so far has been that Xiaomi is launching its high-end smartphone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855SoC processor fitted in it. The rumour on the laptop has now surfaced and it is being predicted that the event will feature the release of both the devices.
If this prediction on the laptop comes true, that would mean a first time the Chinese major has chosen to release a laptop in one of its sub-brands, Redmi. It does not have a Redmi laptop in its product range as yet. In a way, the company will do what the other Chinese major Huawei does.
The rumours even suggest that Xiaomi might keep the Redmi laptops priced at a lower end when compared to its main Mi Notebooks. All these are merely speculative in nature and there is absolutely no confirmation from the company’s end.
However, some details about the Redmi smartphone to be launched on May 13 can be shared here even if you have heard these before.
The display on the new phone will be 6.39-inch in size with a full-HD+, 1080×2340 pixels screen resolution. The major excitement is around the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor to be fitted on this new phone. As you would expect, the MIUI 10 based on Android Pie will be the OS. The rear camera is expected to be a triple sensor setting consisting of a 48-megapixel primary camera. The other two shooters are likely to be 8MP and 13MP. A 32MP camera will be in the front for selfies. The phone will have an in-display fingerprint sensor and a large enough battery that can run for more than a day under normal usage.
