The latest Dengeki PlayStation (via Ryokutya2089) has revealed the next Atelier game.
The new game is titled Atelier Raiza: The Queen of Everlasting Darkness and the Secret Hideaway, and it’s coming to PlayStation 4 sometime this fall in Japan.
While the announcement was via Dengeki PlayStation, our guess is there’s a Nintendo Switch version as well.
The story is written by developer Gust and Shakugan no Shana creator Yashichiro Takahashi. Character designs are being handled by artist Toridamono.
The story is a coming of age tale focused on protagonist Raizalin Staut (voice by Yuri Noguchi), a normal girl that starts feeling anxious in her ordinary life. She’s always looking for something exciting or interesting with her friends. She’s a free spirit, with a strong idea of justice.
When she has her mind set, it’s hard to convince her otherwise. This story is focused on her finding a special purpose behind something in her life, after picking up alchemy and meeting a special someone.
The world is built through a new form
The battle system has an entirely new turn-based command system, and it can feel more aggressive and fast-paced than ever before. There’s a new bonding system that lets you build relationships with other characters, too. Items can change pending the tool used, and even gathering spots.
Alchemy synthesis has a new system where “creation” is the new keyword. The new system is said to be easier to get into, and ultimately feels more responsive than before. While previous Atelier games had a grid/tile system for alchemy, this new system has a skill-tree like system.
