A record for a Dell XPS 13 7390 2-in-1 laptop powered by an Ice Lake i7-1065 G7 processor has appeared on the Geekbench database. The system involved in the benchmark managed a score of 5,234 in the single-core test and picked up 17,330 points in the multi-core test. According to the published data, a maximum frequency of 3.48 GHz was reached.

Tum Apisak has shared the details about a supposed Dell XPS 13 7390 convertible being tested on Geekbench. Dell’s latest version of the popular XPS 13 has only just been announced and is not expected to launch until July 10. Joining the yet to be released 2-in-1 is Intel’s 10th Gen Core i7-1065 G7 processor, which the chipmaker only recently unveiled at Computex 2019.

The Ice Lake XPS 13 7390 achieved a score of 5,234 in the Geekbench single-core test. If the database entry is genuine, then it’s not a bad performance from a 4-core chip with a TDP of 15 W. Another 4-core chip from Intel, the i7-8559U, managed a similar result of 5,207. However, this CPU has a base clock rate of 2.7 GHz to fall back on, whereas the purported i7-1065 G7 in this scenario has a base clock of just 1.5 GHz.

The multi-core score that the Dell XPS 13 7390 amassed puts the Ice Lake mobile processor on a level again with the i7-8559U (17,651) and another 4-core processor, the i7-6700K (17,478). The Geekbench tests demonstrate that Intel’s 10th Gen Core chip can perform at decent levels even with comparatively low base and boost clocks. However, Dell’s official spec sheet for the new XPS 13 convertible states a maximum boost of 3.9 GHz for the i7-1065 G7, so even better performance can be expected from this brand-new processor.
